Outboardklubben did a fantastic job, they hosted an very very good event. Reasonable on time, great pit area´s – organized cranes and skilled personell. Great pontoons – wide enough to all boats – and a fantastic public.

Team Stark has apparently said it was the best race in the last two years in F2, great statement, and As fare I know all drivers enjoyed it.

Drammen is classic arena for powerboat racing, and I have followed the race since age 10, when Strøm, Van Der Velden, Chris Bush, Michael Werner and the hot drivers was batteling it out on the narrow arena. With the new location pits have increased, but race course is shorter, my only negative comment on the event, apart from making it an one day race, witch should not also be legal from the UIM rules side. I will give Drammen 8 out of 10 – surly the best organized race this year, apart from Riga GP.

Renato Molinari, Bill Seebold, Tom Percival, Bob Spalding........,'

    Great names, great racing.

Renato said once : "This is the only place on earth I can do some fishing and relax in between the intense racing". He did catch some trouts too, I assure you.

Today they still catches trouts and salmons and fishing is even better than in those days Renato visited us.

See you all in Drammen next year.

    Erik

(I raced there for many years myself)

  • Written by Lasse Ström on Fri Aug 29 17:47 Drammen was one of my favorite places for Boat racing and I won my second World F3
    Championship there in 1982.

Two point long race course and little tricky around the soft bend where the Big building was.
Easy to blow over if not careful.

Lots of good memory's from Drammen and the party on top of the hill...
